This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes the types of information we may collect from You or that You may provide when You visit the website solarspek.com, use the Solar Spek Progressive Web Application ("PWA"), use the Solar Spek Desktop Application, or use the Solar Spek Mobile Applications for iOS and Android (collectively, the "Services"), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If You do not agree with our policies and practices, Your choice is not to use our Services. By accessing or using the Services, You agree to this Privacy Policy. When You report an issue or share feedback through our website or apps (for example, with the feedback button or after submitting an inspection), we collect what You enter, such as a category, a message, or a rating, and, if You are not signed in and choose to provide one, a reply email address. We also record the type of page You sent it from (with any identifiers or access codes in the page address removed), the app version, and the inspection the report relates to, if any. If You are signed in, the report is tied to Your account.
To help us investigate problems, when You are signed in our servers keep a short record of requests from Your account that fail: the type of request (for example, "open an assessment"), the time, the error status, the app release, and a general error category. These records do not include full page addresses, access tokens, passwords, or the content You submitted. They are attached to a feedback report only when they belong to the person sending it, and they are automatically deleted after 14 days.

We use an AI-assisted customer support assistant, provided through third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf, to help our team investigate feedback, problem reports, and support requests. To do this, the assistant has read-only access to account, inspection, and report data, including homeowner details contained in inspections and reports (such as names, contact details, and property addresses), as well as feedback reports and their diagnostic records. It cannot change Your account, inspections, reports, or payments. Our staff remain responsible for support decisions.
A core feature of Solar Spek is its "Offline-First" capability. You explicitly acknowledge that the Services store a significant amount of User Content (including high-resolution photos and sensitive assessment data) locally on the internal storage of Your Authorized Device.
BECAUSE DATA IS STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE PRIOR TO SYNCHRONIZATION, SOLAR SPEK CANNOT PROTECT THAT DATA IF YOUR DEVICE IS LOST, STOLEN, OR COMPROMISED. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE PHYSICAL AND DIGITAL SECURITY OF YOUR DEVICES (E.G., USING BIOMETRIC LOCKS, PASSCODES, AND ENCRYPTION).
We collect data from Your device only when an active internet connection allows for synchronization with our servers. Solar Spek is not responsible for the privacy or security of data that has been created on Your device but has not yet successfully synchronized to our secure cloud environment.
We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction. We may disclose Personal Information that we collect or You provide as described in this privacy policy:

We have implemented measures designed to secure Your Personal Information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology.
The safety and security of Your information also depends on You. Where we have given You (or where You have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Services, You are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.
We will only retain Your Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of Your personal data, the purposes for which we process Your personal data, and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
Failed-request diagnostic records are deleted automatically after 14 days. Feedback reports are kept for as long as they are needed to respond, improve the Services, and keep records; if You delete Your account, Your reports are disconnected from it and any reply email address matching Your account is removed.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Solar Spek's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You may revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app, though this may severely limit the functionality of the Services.
Our Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If You are under 13, do not use or provide any information on these Services or on or through any of its features. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
Users must be eighteen (18) years of age or older to use or register for Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that: (a) all information you submit during Account registration is truthful and accurate; (b) you will maintain the accuracy of such information; and (c) your use of the Services does not violate any applicable law or regulation. Your profile and Account may be terminated and deleted without warning if we believe that you are under eighteen (18) years of age.

Solar Spek is based in the United States. If You are accessing the Services from the European Union, Asia, or any other region with laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure that differ from United States laws, please be advised that through Your continued use of the Services, which are governed by U.S. law, this Privacy Policy, and our Terms of Service, You are transferring Your personal information to the United States and You consent to that transfer.
It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page with a notice that the privacy policy has been updated on the Services' home page. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page.
